Branded links are short URLs built around personal or company brand name. They associate your brand with the content and information you share online. This results in a boost to brand awareness, brand recognition and link trust.

For example, when our founder wants to direct people to his online CV, he could share any of these links:

  • https://www.linkedin.com/in/davidedeguz (Long link)
  • or bit.ly/1lHJljt (Short link)
  • or Davide.link/CV (Branded link)

But he prefers to use branded links, because they are more descriptive, memorable and pronounceable than other links. They provide increased brand visibility and look cool too. They can even be used on your offline marketing promotions.

Branded links increase trust among social media followers. When people see your company’s name on the link you’re sharing, they know they can trust it. They can click on it without worrying they will go to spam or phishing websites. This increased trust can increase click-through rates by up to 39% when compared to long links or generic short links.
